GSA’s Regulatory Information Service Center and the Office of Management and Budget’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) have established the RegInfo.gov website to assist users who want to find federal regulatory information.
RegInfo.gov makes available to the public substantial information about three separate, but related, governmentwide activities:
- Federal regulatory agendas and regulatory plans - RegInfo.gov includes brief synopses and timetables for action on rules that federal departments and agencies are considering.
- Regulatory Review - RegInfo.gov provides a regulatory review dashboard where users are able to select and identify rules under review by OIRA by agency, economic significance, stage of rulemaking or other characteristics, and to compare the results for different agencies.
- Information Collection Reviews (ICR) - RegInfo.gov provides an ICR dashboard where users are able to select and identify information collections under review by OIRA by agency, by type and by length of review, and to compare the results for different agencies. The ICR dashboard also provides a complete inventory of currently approved information collections.
RegInfo.gov gives the public searchable access to this information to make more transparent the activities of OIRA and Federal agencies in rulemaking and information collection. Additional links are available on the Related Resources page that can connect users to legislation, the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, information about rulemakings affecting small businesses and federal forms. The site also contains “The Reg Map,” a chart that shows how regulations are adopted.
