The ABI coordinates strategies for increasing efficiency in government broadband programs and expanding the Nation’s broadband capacity. There are three interagency workstreams composed of more than 25 agencies that work to achieve ABI’s goals. GSA is the co-chair for the workstream Leveraging Federal Assets (LFA). LFA’s objective is to make federal assets, such as tower facilities, buildings, and land available for use in deploying broadband infrastructure as much as possible to lower the cost of broadband buildouts and encourage private-sector companies to expand telecommunications infrastructure, especially in rural America.
The FRPC consists of federal Senior Real Property Officers, the Controller of OMB, the Administrator of General Services, and any other officials or employees permitted by the chair of the Council.
