Restrooms, Dining and Shopping

Public access to the cafeteria, library, museum, and Indian craft shop are provided via the C Street entrance to the building, located between 18th and 19th Streets NW. Access is also available via the E Street entrance, located between 18th and 19th Streets NW. Both of these entrances are handicap accessible.

The Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior building is accessible by Metro. Take the 18th Street exit at the Farragut West Metro Station and walk south towards Constitution Avenue. The main entrance to the building is located six blocks south of the metro on C Street between 18th and 19th Streets.

Restrooms

Available to the public. 
Restrooms located inside the Department of the Interior building are available to patrons of the cafeteria, museum, Indian Craft Shop, and Department of the Interior Library. A photo ID is required for entrance.

Retail/Shopping

Available to the public. Indian Craft Shop

Interior Museum

Available to the public.
Open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (closed federal holidays). Murals Tours are still available upon appointment, visit www.doi.gov/interiormuseum for more information about tours and public programs.

The Interior Museum Murals Tour lasts an hour and visits 26 photographic murals by Ansel Adams and many of the over forty mural panels painted by artists including Maynard Dixon, Allan Houser, Gifford Beal, and John Steuart Curry. The Murals Tour is offered at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The tour is limited to 20 visitors and a reservation is required. For groups over eight, custom tours can be scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Please call the Museum in advance of your visit at 202-208-4743 to make a reservation. All adults must present a photo ID to enter the Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building. All visitors will be subject to security screenings, including bag and parcel checks. Please enter the building at the entrance at C Street NW.
