Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee (FSCAC) Recommendations to the GSA Administrator on CSP Authorization Improvements, ConMon Process Improvements, & Automation Initiatives and Opportunities
Background
The Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee (FSCAC) is statutorily required under the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, and thus formally established under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, or “FACA,” as of our Charter’s official filing date of February 28, 2023. The majority of the work of this Committee will be focused around the FedRAMP Authorization Act of 2022’s statutory requirements and purpose, specifically to:
- Examine the operations of FedRAMP and determine ways that authorization processes can continuously be improved;
- Collect information and feedback on agency compliance with and implementation of FedRAMP requirements; and
- Serve as a forum that facilitates communication and collaboration among the FedRAMP stakeholder community.
Previously, FSCAC met on July 20, 2023 and completed the vote on the prioritization of the Committee’s initiatives. The priorities approved were as follows:
- CSP Authorization Improvements
- ConMon Process Improvements
- Automation Initiatives and Opportunities
Each initiative was researched, analyzed, and discussed by the Committee in order to form recommendations for improvements. After careful deliberation, the Committee would like to present the following information and recommendations for each initiative to you.
